Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy technique that can help people process traumatic memories and heal from trauma or other distressing experiences:
How it works
During EMDR, you focus on a back-and-forth movement or sound while recalling an upsetting memory. This process is intended to change how the memory is stored in the brain, reducing the vividness and emotion associated with it.
